Raanthal, the ‘Floating Restaurant’
The Raanthal is a restaurant perched on top of two large kettuvalloms. This ‘floating restaurant’ offers a spectacular venue for a private function like a wedding! The Raanthal can be used aesthetically for destination weddings - Say your vows under the shades of a good olden lantern with the sounds of waves lapping softly against the kettuvallom. Design your welcome in a traditional style with women in traditional Kerala saree, greeting you with garlands and thaalams.
The Raanthal can be thematically decorated to suit your tastes and mood. If you are looking for a richly Kerala styled welcome, you can plan an entry sequence in which the groom comes in on an elephant and the bride in a palki. They can be welcomed into a traditional setting with urlis and marigold hangings.
Take your vows in the middle of the Arabian Sea! If you are lucky, you will be able to spot dolphins swimming shallowly across the crystal clear waters as you glide across.
In a less private function, we can arrange for a setting in which the bride and bridegroom take their pledge on the Raanthal and have the remaining guests circle around them in open houseboats. Image this houseboat wedding under the silver moonlight with nothing but lamps and ambiance lighting to highlight the wedding party in the middle of the sea!!
The Raviz has three private islands which can be used for weddings. These islands can comfortably host parties for 150-200 people in the heart of Ashtamudi Lake. These uninhibited islands have the perfect ambiance for a quiet and private function, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One can have a firework display and wish lantern release in the middle of the lake.
Post-wedding special dinner of two with personalized service from Raviz staff can also be arranged as a honeymoon add-on or extra with your wedding package.
Houseboat FacilitiesThe Raviz can also offer their houseboats for wedding parties and receptions. There are houseboats which can be booked exclusively for honeymoons. These luxury AC-houseboats offer great sightseeing opportunities!
The Raviz also has a ‘Conference Boat’ which can comfortably hold 85 people onboard its decks.
