Winter Weddings

Winter Weddings

A winter wonderland wedding! – A familiar dream? It is no doubt one of the best times of the year to have your wedding! Not just because it is winter and the theme is already set, but because it is holiday season and you naturally have people from all over the world flying home! What better time to organize a wedding!

Winter weddings are great in lands of snow where nature itself presents the best of natural adornments for the wedding. In the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the States, winter weddings are a great feast as the weather provides the perfect ambiance and gleam to the event. Even in tropical locations, winter weddings are celebrated with much flair, often with fake snow and Christmas decorations.

Christmas is another key attraction for winter weddings. Jingles and carols, holly and candy canes, tower pines, decorated with gifts and cherries, Christmas is a beautiful time of the year when the family is together and everybody is in celebratory spirit. Christmas gives a natural theme for the wedding.

Now that a winter wedding is decided, what would be the most important aspects of wedding big day you would have to take care of?

  • Watch the weather forecast! A sudden blizzard around the wedding date will require you to make extra arrangements for transportation and accommodation! Book your heaters well in advance!

  • Cakes will be in great demand during December and January with Christmas and New Year. Book the cake roughly two months before in order to avoid festive season shortages. Design your cake with tiny embellishments of holly, candy cane and other Christmas décor.

  • You may think winter may take the sheen off your outfit – WRONG! Winter weddings are times to make great style statements! Buy a red or green velvet cape or sweater, tailor fit to your gown. Get a Santa Claus-themed robe and let it sashay behind you on the aisle as you walk down it. Keep mufflers, wraps, hats and stoles ready at all times!

  • Take good care of your skin! The weather is dry, but your skin should not be dry! Invest in a good cold cream and moisturize regularly!

  • Hair Care! Split ends and dandruff can completely ruin your wedding hairdo! Give your hair the royal treatment with a routine oil massage. Do not leave your hair out dry for long. Condition it regularly!

  • Ice sculptures are compulsory items for winter weddings! Install a centerpiece carved out of ice and you will have a winter wedding that will be talked about for ages!

  • In a tropical land? Rent a fake snow machine and redo the entire venue! Wedding planners can completely change your tropical beach into the Himalayan dream!

  • The venue themes should be light and mild! – Lavender, purple, cream, silver. And then the Christmas theme- red, green and dark violet! These colours will bring alive the true feeling of winter at the wedding!

  • The wedding flowers should be compatible with ice cold temperatures. Roses, white lilies and orchids work best during winter climate.

  • Do the unconventional! – Arrange an ice skating area as a part of your venue! Winter is incomplete without ice skating and so would your wedding be, if you do not add this little piece of winter entertainment for your winter wedding!

  • Break from the ordinary and do something wild! Why not have a Christmas-decorated sleigh rather than a car your departure?

  • To top it off, take a honeymoon to a warm sunny land! Go to Hawaii or Maldives and bask in the sun! Shed off the winter sheen and get a nice bronze tan!

In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.
