Groom’s Speech: Thanksgiving Wedding Speeches
A wedding is a result of days, months and years of planning. A lot of people play significant roles in turning your dream into reality. At the end of the day, many of us forget to thank the ones we love. In Western countries, it is tradition for the groom to say a few words at the end of the reception. Although this is a trend that is catching up in India, never shy away from taking a moment to thank your family, friends and all your guests who have taken time to celebrate with you and be a part of your big day. Here is a sample groom’s speech you could follow as a guideline while preparing your speech:
Thanksgiving Groom’s Speech Script (Sample):
On behalf of my wife and our families, we’d like to thank you all for coming here today and sharing our special day with us. Some moments in life are meant to be shared. And for us, this is one of those occasions. We hope that you’re enjoying it every bit as much as we are and we’d like to thank you for your kind wishes cards, presents and support. We would also like to thank all those of you who have travelled so far to be with us today.
(Bride’s Parents), thank you, not only for your hospitality and your kindness but for also gifting me your very beautiful daughter. I promise I’ll take good care of her and make sure she has this smile on her face, all our lives.
Also, I want to say thank you to my parents who put up with me for all these years; I wouldn’t have been standing here today if it weren’t for the both of you. And I truly believe that I am who I am only because of you.
Above everything else, I am absolutely delighted to be able to stand here today. Ever since I met (Wife’s name), I have grown immensely as a person, learning to value life more and live each day to the fullest. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you, starting tonight.
Friends and family, once again, thank you for being here tonight. We look forward to making many wonderful memories together with you in the future.
Thank you, once again. Have a great evening!”
