Siddharth & Sneh \u2013 We are probably here today because of their mutual love for dogs.\u00a0 Although, their love story began with Siddharth trying to convince the die-hard dog lover in Sneh to adopt a cat! What followed after a few months of incessant texting and endless conversations is this big fat Indian wedding.<\/p>\n

It was back in 2018 that Siddharth first reached out to us for their wedding. In the course of that one year, we turned into great friends, one that we will cherish for years to come! The wedding festivities were held over three days, starting with a Sangeet, followed by an intimate Haldi and Mehendi ceremony the next day. A traditional Malayali wedding sealed the deal and we ended the night with a grand reception dinner under starry skies and night lights. The challenge in designing multi-day events is that you have to make each event look different, while keeping the basic style intact and the best part about designing this wedding was the fact that our ideas and preferences coincided seamlessly. Sneh loved the minimalistic eye in design and that is our personal favourite when it comes to curating such weddings.<\/p>\n

The Sangeet<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the Sangeet, we took inspiration from Sneh\u2019s white and gold lehenga and decided to light up the d\u00e9cor in pastel hues of pink. (We were also looking for a break from the done and dusted multi-coloured Sangeet decorations). We incorporated the Indian elephant motif in the backdrop and used carnation roses, lotuses and fairylights to add subtle details to the d\u00e9cor. Another key design inclusion was to personalize the d\u00e9cor table with photographs of the family that they missed the most at the wedding \u2013 their dogs and cats!<\/p>\n

The Haldi<\/strong><\/p>\n

A bright and sunny January morning, and an outdoor venue meant that we had to bring in some local marigold flowers and quirky props \u2013 we would like to attribute the bright and vibrant colours to the dynamic equation that this couple share with each other. A simple canopy, lots of colourful props and some old school Bollywood dance music completed the setup for this intimate Haldi and Mehendi ceremony.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Wedding<\/strong><\/p>\n

We believe this is by far one of the most beautiful wedding Mandaps we have setup. Sneh and Siddharth wanted a traditional South-Indian ambience for their sacred nuptials and that was our cue to look for locally available resources to complete the look. We build a traditional wooden Mandap for the ceremony, and adorned it with yellow marigold and tender coconut leaves. The walkway leading up to the wedding venue was also embellished with parrots made out of tender coconut leaves and marigold flowers. Since the Bride was wearing an electrfying red wedding saree and the Groom in the traditional off-white attire, we decided to have the two contrast against our yellow-green colour palette.<\/p>\n

Siddharth picked the song for Sneh\u2019s Bridal entry and it was one of the most magical Bridal entries we had ever seen. Watching the Groom tear up watching his Bride enter with her bridesmaids and family, has to be the highlight of this wedding! The ceremony took place as per Malayali Hindu rituals, which was followed by a fun photo shoot with the bridesmaids and groomsmen.<\/p>\n

The Reception<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a pastel toned sangeet, sunset coloured Haldi and a yellow-green lit wedding, we went for an all-white d\u00e9cor scheme for the Reception dinner. With cane lanterns starring the sky and a dance floor, we wanted to use the outdoor space and its natural ambience as the backdrop for this lovely evening. Family and friends came walked in in their finest attire for a night of music, dance, heartfelt speeches and a whole lot of love!<\/p>\n
