So it only comes naturally that the great Indian wedding is going to be a celebration of sweets!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Serving sweets at <a href=\"http:\/\/tamarindweddings.com\/theBigFatIndianWedding.html\">Indian weddings <\/a>is a must all over the country. From hands full of ladoo to milk peda to bowls of rasagullah, the amount of sweets passing through every wedding is huge!! Silver platters with mountains of coloured mithai, large bowls of sugar<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tamarindweddings.com\/theBigFatIndianWedding.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-216 alignright\" title=\"wedding sweets\" alt=\"wedding sweets\" src=\"http:\/\/tamarindweddings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/sweet.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"234\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0syrup and gulab jamun placed strategically near areas of large congregations, chocolate fountains and trays of truffle cake lined up against the walls are common Indian wedding delights. Children running around with hands full of ladoo, elders gifting boxes of exquisite delicacies, the bride and groom digging into pieces of heavenly chocolate are all regular sights at the Indian wedding!<\/p>\n<h2><em>Types of wedding sweets in India :<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The common Indian wedding sweets are the ghee-based maladu, Mysore pauk, jelebi and ravaladu, milk-based kesar peda, burfi, rasamalai and coconut khiva and the flour-based delicacies such as cupcakes, truffle cakes and brownies. The Bengali sweets are the most famous of Indian wedding sweets! Known for their rich taste, Bengali sweets are always in great demand during weddings and festivities! Champakai, rasagulla, and rasapoori are some of the Bengali delights served at weddings. Punjabi kheer is often served opulently at Indian weddings. Gajrela and khoya pinnian are also sure items on the wedding dessert menu.<\/p>\n<p>The burfi is one of the most in-demand of wedding sweets! The milk sweet comes in a variety of flavours, ranging from pure milk to pista to almond to chocolate to rose&#8230; Burfis are avidly gifted among parties during the wedding.<\/p>\n<p>Halwas are <a href=\"http:\/\/tamarindweddings.com\/wedding-favours.html\">wedding favorates<\/a>! Originally from Arabia, we have adopted the Halwa as our own and from then on, incorporated them into almost every wedding. Halwas can be of badam, wheat or even fruit! The tastiest of all the flavours is the <em>gajar halwa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The gajar halwa is a\u00a0tantalizing\u00a0dish of milk and fresh carrot! At some wedding parties, they are served as a thick pudding while at others, they are loosely served with plenty of toned milk to drink at the bottom of the bowl.<\/p>\n<p>The Urundai is also a wedding delight. Two famous urundai types are the yellu urundai and groundnut urundai.<\/p>\n<p>South Indian weddings have a\u00a0specialty\u00a0sweet which is served at almost every wedding! \u2013 The Payasam! A warm mixture of milk and ingredients such as dhal, rice, semia, aval or wheat completes the wedding buffet. Payasams when served with sadhyas gives the ultimate effect! \u2013 Heavy and nutritious, with just the right amount of sweetness to make your day!<\/p>\n<p>English sweets are usually mixtures of flour, milk and nuts. Baked varieties such as cupcakes, brownies and truffle cakes are served at almost every wedding. The brownie with ice cream is a hit among children and adults equally! Ice cream in different flavours such as butterscotch, blueberry, pista and mango quells the heat of the summer days and warm custard pudding which melts in your mouth the minute you slip it in are winter wedding delights. Donuts with sprinkles, chocolate donuts with sprinkles, fountains all make great wedding desserts!<\/p>\n<p>For a healthier option, you can have fruit salad which is a sure refreshment at any <a href=\"http:\/\/tamarindweddings.com\/weddingSurprises.html\">wedding party<\/a>. Don\u2019t forget that some of your guests may be\u00a0diabetic! For them, create a customized menu comprising of sugar-free desserts.\u00a0Egg-less\u00a0cakes are also a good option for the health-conscious wedding party guest.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that wedding sweets are not just for the wedding day.
