The Sree Krishna Temple<\/a>\u00a0is considered to be the most sacred of spots for marriages and vow renewals. This temple is around 5000 years old and has a holy idol of Lord Krishna, or \u2018Guruvayurappan\u2019. In many ways, this temple is auspicious and is filled with a divine aura.<\/p>\n

The Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur is considered to be the \u2018Holy Abode of Krishna on Earth\u2019. People from across the Indian sub-continent and especially Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh travel to this temple to seek the blessings of the deity there.<\/p>\n

The temple hosts many mandaps and early bookings are required months in advance. The Sree Krishna Temple performs as much as 35 \u2013 100 weddings per day. In peak times, the number easily crosses 200. Only close family members are allowed into the mandap. Each ceremony will last only for 3-7 minutes and immediately, the couple and family has to vacate to make way for the next wedding party.
