Underwater Weddings

Take your guests out for a real treat by giving them a real life underwater experience!

Underwater weddings are a spectacle to watch and experience! A nose dive into the Atlantic with your beau wearing a crispy white wedding dress and ‘I Do’ with fish and bubbles is an out-of-the-world underwater wedding experience!

To make the underwater wedding special, one must wear water-friendly goggles and scuba diving gear over their wedding dress. Instead of pretty shoes, flippers are fitted for easy underwater movement.

The wedding ceremony under water is simple – The bride and groom, well-equipped with their scuba diving outfit dive into the water with the priest, who like them, is dressed for the underwater experience. The priest or the person performing the ceremony has to use an underwater slate in which he writes the questions or vows for the couple. The couple must respond with two slates that say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

Once the underwater sequence is over, the couple can swim afloat and welcome their guests on the shoreline or on the boat. Champagne, dance and music can follow as usual.

Underwater cameras and videographers can go about clicking the couple’s favourite moments and get them on tape. Nowadays, many such weddings come as a package with reputed hospitality majors who offer honeymoon suites underwater to complete the effect! How awesome is that?

Do remember that underwater weddings are performed under expert caution. The couple and their guests will be trained to be underwater and there will be security measures enforced to keep danger at bay.

Underwater weddings are much popular in foreign countries such as Mexico, Florida, Indonesia and islands like the Bahamas and Hawaii. In India, the potential for such weddings is yet to be exploited.
