Wedding Gown: How to make the right choice!

Wedding Gown: How to make the right choice!

Wedding gowns play a major role in getting a ravishing look on your wedding day. So enhancing your beauty by choosing the best gown is really important.

Wedding dresses are in different shapes; the common being A-line, ball gown, sheath, mermaid and empire. Here are few tips for finding the perfect gown which will best flatter your bridal charm.

Generally, women’s figures can be divided into seven categories – hour glass, short waist, thick waist, full figure, pear shape, thin and short. Let’s take a look at the do’s and dont’s for selecting bridal wear:

Wedding gown according to body type:

Hour glass body
A-line and low waist gowns with heart-shaped necklines will compliment you well. You can select curvaceous models or fit-and-flare type gowns. However, stay away from gowns having empire waist or ball silhouettes. They will make you look dis-proportioned.

Short waist figures
A princess line gown with body-fitting bodice will elongate your figure beautifully. If you have attractive shoulders, a halter neckline would be good. Extend your torso by opting for gowns with a slightly dropped waist. Do not try sheath type gowns because they will bring focus to your short waist.

Thick waist figures
Your worry is your undefined waistline. Choose empire gowns which will make you look lean and cover any figurative imperfections. Avoid basque waist or princess line gowns which will focus more on your waist area.

Full figure
For a full and feminine figure, a ball gown or an A-line model is the best option as they hide those extra curves in a wonderful way. However, avoid sheath gowns with spaghetti straps as they will make you look thick.

Pear shape body
If you are a pear-shaped woman, you are small on top and bigger on the bottom part of the body. A basque waist or strapless ball gown will cover any imperfections correctly. Empire silhouettes also do the job, highlighting your upper portion while covering the remaining well.

Thin body shape
Thin women have two great options: a slim sheath silhouette, or a regular ball gown. Halter and off-shoulder necklines will not compliment skinny collarbones. Hence, avoid them.

Short figures
All types of silhouettes suit small frames! However, A-line and sheath gowns are the best choices. Pick simple bridal wear with good body-fitting shape. Avoid silhouettes with complicated details.
