15 Important Things To Complete Before The Wedding Day

The date is set and the wedding day is fast approaching. You are nervous, excited and going about with jitters. It’s almost the moment of reckoning and you are sure you have everything reined in nice and proper.

But are you sure?

There will always be a thread or two left hanging untouched. Being pretty sure of things is not a good way to step into your wedding day. You have to be absolutely certain that everything is in order.

So here is a checklist of 15 important things that you may forget to look into. Treat this as a reminder:

1.Check the invitation list – This one is a slippery one as the chances of forgetting to add a friend or family is high. So double check your invitations (including the ones sent out), lest you forget someone important.

2.Check in with vendors – Call, confirm and note down your vendor appointments. Ensure that the caterers, florists and make-up artists are good to go and that they won’t miss out the wedding day.

3.Prepare payments – Pay out your vendors ahead in time. If not in full, set them with at least half the amount, ensuring that they will keep up their end of the deal punctually.

4.The wedding dress – Some traditions involve the groom gifting the bride wedding dresses. So if you follow such custom, ensure you have bought the dresses early.

5.Your personal touch – Do you intend to have a personalised theme? If yes, then ensure you have all the props and items ready to go. Focus on making a list of the things to get, like centrepieces, bouquets, etc. so you won’t forget.

6.Budget – The most important element here is the budget, which you need to stick to. But don’t settle for anything cheap, instead, discuss with your partner and decide on a middle path.

7.Dress fittings – You may have different dresses for the wedding and post- and pre-wedding functions. Check whether they fit you correctly and if there are any defects in the material.

8.An emergency kit – This is mostly for brides. You never know what can go wrong. So get some emergency backup items such as makeup and extra pins in a kit and keep it in the vicinity.

9.Wedding props in place – The decorations should go up on the previous day. Ensure all the wedding items are all in their proper place and in the exact arrangement decided.

10.Songs and music – Songs may skip or you may hear a different tune. So, check up with the person who manages the music to see if they have all the right songs and music to play.

11.Catch your photographer – Get your photographer booked in advance. Pay him and remind him of the exact date and check up on the previous day.

12.Photo shoots – Discuss with your photographer about photo shoots before and after the wedding. Arrange for any change in dress or props you may need to use during the time.

13.Wedding itinerary – Create a wedding itinerary for the family to follow on the wedding day, the pre-wedding day, reception and after-wedding party.

14.Check transportation – If you have arranged for pick-ups for your guests, check with the person handling the transportation and make sure everything is in order.

15.A wedding supervisor – Appoint a close friend or relative as a wedding supervisor so that you wouldn’t have to be bothered about any issues on your wedding day.
